PII currently has openings for the following:
1. SENIOR ENGINEER (Sr. Process Safety Engineer): Process Improvement Institute, Inc.
(PII) has need of a senior process safety/chemical engineer to
lead and document process hazard analyses (PHAs) for clients.
Travel is required to Saudi Arabia, Austria, Korea, and
Italy currently,
but future work will likely involve increasing amount of
time in North America. The start date is flexible.
The pay is excellent, but depends on relevant experience in
operations and especially process safety. Relocation
is not required. Engineering degree is required; chemical
engineer is preferred and mechanical engineer is second
preference. Excellent background in process safety
management (PSM), leading process hazard analysis (PHA),
leading incident investigations/root cause analysis,
understanding of human factors (and human error prevention)
and behavior-based errors are a must. Teaching
experience in these areas is a plus. Good computer/keyboard skills and excellent
interpersonal skills are required. Will need to be able to
concentrate on PHA meeting progression for 6-7 hours each day of
meetings and will need to be able to distill 10,000 words of
discussion per hour into 100 words of risk-related text into
proprietary software. Will need to be able to coach
junior staff.
